IPPS - Membership Information
The International Plant Propagators' Society is an organization of persons engaged in propagation of plants and/or in teaching, research, or extension, or other fields related to plant propagation. Its members are required to share freely such knowledge and experience in plant propagation as they may have or acquire. All members are required to attend a regional annual meeting or other Society-sponsored meeting at least once every four years, or, in lieu of attendance, contribute a paper for the Region's newsletter, like 'The North American Plant Propagator'.

Memberships are processed at the regional level, with dues being allocated to both international and regional expenses.

Contact the Regional Secretary / Treasurer in your area of the world for membership information and applications.

You may also review the list of International Officers, International Directors and Alternates to see if one lives in your area.

New members receive a membership lapel pin and, after five continuous years of membership, a Society wall plaque. In addition, copies of old issues of the Combined Proceedings are still available. Contact the International Secretary to obtain availability and prices for these volumes.

For more information about the Society, the regions, the availability of proceedings, or other general questions contact the International Office at 717-691-8898 or Secretary@IPPS.org

New in 2008

At-Large membership has been added as a new category of membership for those individuals who are not within the geographic boundaries of an existing region. This action by the International Board of Directors is in response to many inquiries from plant propagators, plant producers, researchers, nursery owners, and others with an interest in IPPS and its vast collection of plant production information.

As an at-large member, you will receive the following benefits:

  •  the current volume of the Combined Proceedings as part of the annual membership, usually sent in September – available in a printed book of approximately 700 pages, or a CD.
  • access to the Members Only area of the IPPS website where you can obtain contact information on members from other regions, utilize the membership message board, and read other information reserved for members, and
  • inclusion in a listing for at-large members in a separate membership section on the website.
  • the opportunity to purchase previous issues of the Combined Proceedings, not available to non-members.

At-large members are welcome to attend any of the conferences sponsored by any of the current IPPS regions, paying the same registration fees as members of that region. In addition, at-large members are invited to submit a paper for inclusion in the Combined Proceedings each year, in a separate category within the publication reserved for non-presented papers. The International Editor will establish the guidelines and timeline for submission of such papers.

Membership Dues are for the calendar year, from January 1 through December 31 of each year. Dues are not prorated since you will receive a copy of the Combined Proceedings for each year in which dues are paid. Those who join October 1 or later will be “rolled over” to the next calendar membership year and receive only the Combined Proceedings distributed in that next year.

Annual membership dues are dependent upon which format you prefer to receive the Combined Proceedings, as follows:

  • Membership with Combined Proceedings in bound book format for $90 USD
  • Membership with Combined Proceedings in CD format for $70 USD
  • Membership with Combined Proceedings in BOTH bound book and CD formats for $110 USD
